St Andrews has been the home to some truly remarkable women. The University was a pioneer of women’s higher education in the UK, awarding degree-level qualifications to women since 1877, and admitting women students to study for degrees from 1892. Many influential women have passed through the University since then, making real and important changes as they came. The Curious St Andrews Women Tour will introduce you to some of these women, and the places they lived or worked. Our tour includes women who campaigned to change St Andrews, as well as those educated in St Andrews who went on to shape the world beyond.
